Mobile Communication Support (Remote)
Section titled “Mobile Communication Support (Remote)”This remote role provides real-time support (informational and logistical) to the Verifiers and Patrols who are physically in the field to ensure they have the best possible information and a clear line of communication.
Core Responsibilities
Section titled “Core Responsibilities”Real-Time Data Relay
Section titled “Real-Time Data Relay”- Monitor the primary communication channel (Signal thread for Verifiers/Patrols)
- Relay initial reports, updates, and requests between verifiers/patrols and admin team
- Conduct quick, non-physical checks that can aid field responders
Information Research
Section titled “Information Research”- Look up street addresses or landmarks mentioned in reports
- Cross-reference license plates against known ICE vehicle lists
- Find driving directions or alternate routes for responders
- Research unfamiliar location details
Communication Support
Section titled “Communication Support”- Keep communication flowing when field responders are occupied
- Transcribe voice messages if needed
- Summarize long threads for quick reference
- Maintain timeline of events during incidents
Typical Tasks

Section titled “During Verification Requests”- Receive report of possible sighting
- Look up the exact address
- Check if any known ICE plates match
- Provide responders with relevant context
- Track responder ETAs and locations
During Active Incidents
Section titled “During Active Incidents”- Monitor multiple channels simultaneously
- Compile information from different sources
- Provide real-time updates to admin
- Research questions that come up (e.g., “What’s the nearest hospital?”)
- Maintain incident log
Routine Support
Section titled “Routine Support”- Update shared databases with new plate numbers
- Research patterns in recent activity
- Prepare reference materials for responders
- Test communication systems

Communication Protocols

Providing Information

Checking Plates

During Lulls

When to Escalate
Section titled “When to Escalate”Immediately escalate to admins when:
- Verification confirms ICE activity
- Field responder reports danger
- Pattern suggests coordinated operation
- Legal support may be needed
- Media attention is warranted

Vetting Requirements

- Have access to sensitive location information
- Know volunteer identities and locations
- Handle information about enforcement patterns
Vetting includes:
- Introduction through trusted network member
- Vetting questions via Signal
- Protocol review and acknowledgment
- Probationary period with limited access
Time Commitment
Section titled “Time Commitment”Mobile Support can be provided:
- During scheduled shifts coordinated with patrol times
- On-call during high-risk periods
- Remotely from anywhere with internet access
Communicate your availability clearly and be responsive during your shifts.
